FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Minneapolis, MN – June 26, 2025 — Verterra Energy, developer of the modular hydropower technology Volturnus, today announced it has joined the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the largest industrial trade association in the United States.

Verterra’s Volturnus Power Platform delivers persistent, zero-fuel energy generation in contested and remote environments—supporting defense missions that demand long-duration power without resupply. Designed for deployment in riverine, coastal, and open ocean settings, Volturnus enables distributed maritime operations, autonomous systems, ISR platforms, and forward logistics nodes with scalable, maintenance-free energy. The platform also supports dual-use applications, including commercial microgrids and critical infrastructure such as data centers, which are increasingly located near natural water sources for thermal efficiency and cooling.
“Verterra is building power infrastructure for the 21st century and beyond,” said Ted Christopher, CEO of Verterra Energy. “Joining NAM connects us to the broader defense manufacturing base and helps ensure the U.S. is ready to field the next generation of energy technology in support of global force projection and energy security.”
Verterra’s systems are engineered to operate autonomously for months or years without maintenance, survive debris-laden waters, and scale from tactical power to multi-megawatt output—without fuel, logistics burden, or exposure to adversary interdiction.
Through NAM, Verterra will contribute to national manufacturing priorities that strengthen domestic supply chains and accelerate technology innovation.

About Verterra Energy: Verterra Energy builds unmanned, zero-fuel power drones for defense and national security applications as well as commercial use in the global microgrid market. Its Volturnus Power Platform provides autonomous, scalable power in austere maritime environments—supporting ISR, communications, logistics, and unmanned systems across global operations. The technology’s dual-use design also makes it a compelling option for commercial sectors such as remote microgrids and high-demand facilities like data centers, where resilient, sustainable power is critical.
