MINNEAPOLIS, MN, August 29th – Verterra Energy, Inc. is pleased to announce that Chris Ohlsen has joined our Advisory Board. His expertise in business model innovation and new revenue streams brings valuable strategic collaboration perspectives to Verterra as it continues to commercialize its MHP (modular hydro power) technology Volturnus.

Chris is a Principal Partner at Sharp Sky Partners where his clients include Honeywell’s Environmental & Energy Solutions Division and Wells Fargo. He helps Fortune 500 companies navigate the art & science of bringing new ideas to reality; helping large companies move like nimble start-ups.

Chris is passionate about unlocking products and services that improve the fundamentals of life in a sustainable way. Current projects include improving indoor air quality, addressing water scarcity, and connected homes.

He also has extensive marketing and media expertise from his previous companies where he founded Blue House Pictures and Ohlsen Images, Inc. He is an award-winning documentary filmmaker now focused on ocean preservation with the non-profit Undersea Voyager Project. His clients included: Exxon Mobil, Southwest Airlines, Showtime, History Channel, Discovery Channel, MTV and VH-1.

Verterra was founded in 2010 with a mission to harness the power of flowing water in rivers, oceans and canals to produce abundant clean, reliable power for all the world’s people.

Volturnus is a simple and elegant device that, when submerged in moving water, generates electricity. When deployed in “V-Pods” of 5, they create scalable power from 50 kW to multi- MW arrays.
