Verterra Energy Inc is excited to share that Brian Petschel has joined our Engineering team as Lead Electrical Engineer.

Brian joins our team after 20 years of experience in industry. His career has included electrical engineering experience at Innovative Laser Technologies (ILT) and UTC Aerospace Systems (now an RTX business). Most recently, he spent 12 years with Control Concepts, Inc. His design work includes laser stent cutters, integrated air data systems, as well as precision power control and conversion systems for the semiconductor industry.
'Brian brings a wealth of technical experience including electrical design, PCB design, product validation/testing, design to cost, and entry into production. His experience designing, testing, and manufacturing real world products is invaluable as we design and transition our products into production. Welcome to the Verterra team!' - Brian Kane | COO."
Verterra is on a mission to harness the power of flowing water in rivers, oceans and canals to produce abundant, reliable power.

Volturnus is a vertical axis turbine that uniquely harnesses the power of flowing water by combining the working principles of centrifugal pumps & hydrofoils with a rugged, hydrodynamic design. Similar to an underwater 3D weather vane, VOLTURNUS works in harmony with the current to dynamically adjust once deployed. When installed in modular arrays, the technology creates scalable, continuous power from small, 100 watt backpack scale, up to multi-MW arrays.
Based in St. Paul, MN Verterra is funded by mission driven investors and a multi-year DoD contract to commercialize the technology for multiple applications.
